Welcome
As we settle into the middle of the year, June is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the things that matter most when it comes to your child’s early learning journey.
At Stride, we know that early education is about so much more than providing care during the day. It’s about creating an environment where children feel safe, supported and excited to learn. It’s about building meaningful relationships with educators who genuinely know your child, understand their individual needs and celebrate their growth every step of the way.
This month, we’re shining a light on some of the things that make the Stride experience unique. From our experienced educators and allied health support to our commitment to health, safety and wellbeing, every part of our centres is designed with children’s development in mind. Whether it’s learning through play, building confidence through new experiences, or participating in programs like swimming and wellbeing initiatives, our focus remains the same – providing children with opportunities to thrive.
Most importantly, we’re grateful to be part of a community that values connection, learning and giving children the strongest possible start in life.
We hope you enjoy this month’s edition of The Stride Scoop and the stories, updates and celebrations from across our centres.
The Stride Early Learning Team
THIS MONTH AT STRIDE
Learning comes to life when children can connect it to the real world, and that’s exactly what happened recently at Stride Early Learning Baldivis.
Our Toddler and Kindy children had the opportunity to welcome a very special guest, Nurse Dana, who introduced them to the important role nurses play in keeping us healthy through engaging activities and a much-loved Teddy Bear Clinic, where children stepped into the role of junior nurses to care for their favourite soft toys
MAKING A SPLASH WITH STATE SWIM
Following our recent Expression of Interest for swimming lessons, we’d like to share a quick update with families.
Families who expressed interest can expect to be contacted from mid-June regarding enrolment options at their preferred State Swim location.
Learning to swim is an essential life skill for Western Australian children, helping to build water confidence, safety awareness and skills that last a lifetime.
We’re also pleased to advise that Saturday and Sunday lesson options are available. If you have already completed the Expression of Interest form and would prefer a weekend lesson, simply let the State Swim team know when they contact you to discuss enrolment.

SAFETY & CULTURE
QUALITY YOU CAN SEE. CARE YOU CAN FEEL.
When families think about quality early learning, it’s often the smiling faces, engaging activities and happy children they notice first. But behind every great experience is a team committed to creating safe, supportive and enriching environments every day.
At Stride, we believe quality starts with people. That’s why we invest in our educators through ongoing training, professional development and recognition programs that help them continue growing in their careers and delivering exceptional care.
We’re equally committed to maintaining environments where children can learn and explore with confidence. Through initiatives like Stride to Speak Up, regular safety reviews and a strong culture of accountability, we’re continually looking for ways to strengthen the experience for children, families and educators alike.
HEALTH & WELLBEING
5 SIGNS YOUR CHILD IS BUILDING RESILIENCE
- Tries new things, even when they’re unsure.
- Recovers from setbacks and disappointments.
- Solves simple problems independently.
- Expresses feelings and emotions appropriately.
- Keeps trying when something feels challenging.
HOW STRIDE SUPPORTS RESILIENCE
Across our centres, we intentionally create experiences that help children build confidence, independence and emotional awareness. This includes activities such as cooking classes, library and museum visits, puppet shows that encourage empathy and self-expression, creative arts and painting, sensory play, group projects and everyday opportunities to problem-solve alongside their peers.
These experiences help children learn that it’s okay to try, make mistakes, ask questions and keep going. Over time, these small moments build the confidence and resilience they need for school and beyond.
Remember, resilience isn’t built overnight. It’s developed through supportive relationships, new experiences and the confidence to keep trying.
